Privacy policy

This policy applies to Learn Japanese: 2,000 Words, also called JP 2K, published by Zentsu LLC. We keep study records on your iPhone. The app does not require an account and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking code.
Study data on your iPhone
The app stores heard words, study progress, review dates, Library order and settings such as script display, voice and speech speed. Optional reminder settings are also stored locally. These records are not sent to Zentsu, and we cannot see them. The app does not sync study progress between devices.
The app includes its vocabulary and pictures and makes no requests to our website. Corrections to this bundled content arrive through app updates.
Speech and Apple services
Japanese speech is generated on your iPhone using an installed iOS text-to-speech voice. The app does not use the microphone or record you. Downloading an additional voice uses Apple's services and requires an internet connection.
Apple handles app downloads, purchase and restore requests under its own terms and privacy policy. The optional JP 2K Full purchase adds access to more words. We do not receive payment-card details. These Apple services can require a network connection even though vocabulary study works offline.
Optional reminders use iPhone notifications. You can change their time or turn them off in the app, or revoke notification permission in iPhone Settings.
Visiting this website
When you visit zentsu.app in a browser, the hosting provider receives ordinary request information, including the IP address and User-Agent needed to deliver and secure the site. The Zentsu website privacy policy explains website services.
Support correspondence
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include. We use that correspondence to respond and investigate the issue. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or payment-card details.
Deleting data
Settings includes separate actions to reset heard progress and study progress. Deleting the app removes its local storage. Copies included in iCloud Backup or computer backups follow your backup settings. We hold no copy of your study records to delete.

Security and children
Local records rely on the security controls of your iPhone and its backups. Website connections use HTTPS. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
The app does not collect study records or ask children to submit personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support, contact privacy@zentsu.app.
